In General

— Two tragedies in the Wolf Creek community near Freeman, S. D., several weeks ago brought sorrow to a number of families there. Miss Barbara Tschetter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Tschetter, suffered a fractured leg when she was caught under an overturned load of cornstalks. The loss of blood which resulted made here condition quite critical. The second tragedy occurred when M. M. Hofer died suddenly after he had brought home a herd of cattle from a pasture. Riding horseback, he was preparing to dismount after he had arrived at his home when death came unexpectedly through heart failure.
