Doland, S. D. Retired Farmer Called by Death

Doland, S. D. — Funeral services for John J. Hofer, 78, who had resided on a farm near here since 1919, were conducted Dec. 9 at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church, Rev. Wilbur Schmidt officiating.

Mr. Hofer died Dec. 5 at a Huron hospital after a long illness. He was a native of the Bridgewater community where he was married to Mary Tschetter on March 8, 1908. They farmed in Hutchinson county until moving here in 1919.

Survivors include his widow, two daughters, one son, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
