— Many students and a number of faculty members of Freeman College, Freeman, S. D., attended the funeral of Erwin J. Hofer, on Saturday, March 16, at the Salem church near Bridgewater, S. D. Mr. Hofer was in his second year at Freeman College, and death came to him quite suddenly and unexpectedly. A loud speaker was necessary to enable the large crowd that attended the funeral to hear the services. Ministers conducting the funeral were Rev. D. W. Tschetter, Rev. D. S. Wipf, and Rev. J. I. Walter. The Freeman College men’s quartet rendered special music.
