DAVID A. HOFER
David A. Hofer, son of Joseph and Anna Hofer, was born in McCook county, South Dakota, on June 13, 1900. He died of a heart attack while on a business trip in Clark, So. Dakota, Monday, June 18, 1951, at the age of 51 years and five days. At the age of thirteen his parents passed away, and he was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
He was raised in a Christian home and when a young man was baptized and received into the church.
On Dec. 5, 1920, he was united in marriage to Kate Walter. During that same year they moved to their present far 12 miles southwest of Doland.
David A. and Mrs. Hofer both took Christ as their personal Saviour in the year 1924. He will long be remembered as a man of prayer and missionary endeavor. Many times during his years of illness, he expressed to his family, pastor and friends his readiness to meet Christ. We the family rejoice in the knowledge that he was right with god.
Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Angeline Tschetter who is a missionary in Bougouini, Africa, with her husband; three sons, Alvin D. of Minneapolis, Delvin G. and Larry David of Doland; two granddaughters; three brothers, Peter A. of Doland, Paul A. and Joe H. of Bridgewater; and five sisters, Mrs. Annie Hofer of Huron, Mrs. Joe Pullman and Mrs. William M.
