OLDEST RESIDENT OF ALTONA, MANITOBA, PASSED AWAY AT 90

Altona, Man. — Mrs. Anton Hoeppner, 90, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. David Penner, at Bergfield on may 13 after an illness of only a few days.

Mrs. Hoeppner was born in South Russia on Jan. 30, 1857, and came to America in 1875 with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Abram Penner. She had lived in Altona since 1914, and was the oldest resident here.

Funeral services were held in the Sommerfelder church on May 19, with Rev. J. Unrau in charge. Three sons, two daughters, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive.
