Lena Krause Hinz was born on July 7, 1880 at Burrton, Kan. She received her elementary education in Hutchinson, Kan. She was baptized in 1888 upon confession of faith in the Lord and Saviour, whom she loved and served throughout her life.

In 1893 the Krauses, with other families migrated to Oklahoma, settling near Corn. The first years were filled with hardships, but there was time for romance, and on July 24, 1903 she married Emil Hinz. Nine children were born to this union. Mother and Dad celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in July 1973.

Our parents spent most of their lives as farmers. Upon their retirement they moved to Corn. On Aug. 17, 1964 they moved to the Corn Rest Home.

Father died on Jan. 30, 1974. On May 10, 1975 mother suffered a stroke. On May 12 she was taken to the Cordell Memorial Hospital, where she peacefully went to be with the Lord the same day.

She leaves to mourn her passing five children, Alvin and wife Elsie of Corn, Ed and wife Helen of Reedley, Calif., Leonard and wife Thekla of Muskogee, Okla., Martha Grecian of Orange, Calif., and Vernon and wife Irene of Ft. Worth, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Emil (Margie) Hinz of Corn; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mrs. C. H. Dalke, Corn; two brothers-in-law, Dan Hinz of Enid, Okla. and Henry Horn, Corn. Preceding her in death were four sons; Emil, Cornelius, George and Walter. &#8212; The Family.

LENA KRAUSE HINZ
