TINA HINZ

Tina Hintz of Abbotsford, B. C. passed away June 17. She was born May 24, 1903 to the Jakob Dicks in the Crimea, Ukraine. Soon after, the family moved to Alexanderkrone, Molotschna, Ukraine. She attended high school and enjoyed choir and youth activities in church. She accepted Christ during evangelistic services led by Jacob Dyck, was baptized and joined the MB church. In 1924 the family immigrated to Canada. She worked near Waldheim, Sask. and sang in the church choir. She married Cornelius Hintz in June 1928. A house fire in 1929 destroyed everything they owned. They moved to Agassiz, B.C. They joined a small MB church. Prior to the 1935 flood, they moved to Abbotsford. After the birth of their third child, her health was poor, and she was unable to care for her family for a time. They were charter members of South Abbotsford MB Church, located on their property.
