MRS. MARIA HILDEBRANDT

A longtime resident of Campden, Ontario, Maria Hildebrandt, went to be with the Lord on November 20, after a lengthy illness. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Reimer in Russia on February 7, 1906. Hers was a difficult childhood; she lost both her parents during her youth. At the age of 16 she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour and on May 22, 1922, she was baptized and received into the membership of the Mennonite Brethren Church.

In 1926 she migrated to Canada and made her home in Manitoba. On July 10, 1927 she was united in marriage to John Hildebrandt, with whom in loving relationship she was able to share over 48 years of married life. God blessed this union with 11 children, four of whom predeceased their mother. The family moved to Campden in April, 1940.

She leaves to mourn, her husband, John Hildebrandt, five sons and their families, John and Gisela of Sarnia, Henry and Anna and Jake and Carol of Vineland, Abe and Marilyn of St. Catharines, and George and Gabriela of Campden; and two daughters, Tina (Mrs. Leonard) Laroque of Toronto, and Nettie (Mrs. John) Wiens of Grunthal, Man.

The funeral services were conducted from the Vineland (Ont.) Mennonite Brethren Church on November 22, with Isaac Block and H. P. Wiebe ministering.
