Mother Marie Hiebert, the daughter of Frank and Aganetha Janzen, was born in South Russia on Jan. 25, 1866, and departed this life to be with the Lord on July 10, 1954, at the age of 88 years, five months and 15 days.

She came to America with her parents in 1875 and they settled near Newton, Kansas.

She accepted the Lord Jesus as her Saviour, was baptized by Rev. Buller on August 19, 1883, and united with the Alexanderwohl church at Goessel, Kansas.

She was united in marriage with David P. Hiebert on Dec. 20, 1887. This union was blessed with nine children, seven sons and two daughters. Her husband, two sons, Peter and David, one daughter-in-law, and one son-in-law preceded her in death.

Since 1938 she had her home with her children at Dallas, Ore, and Newport, Wash. She was a member of the Grace Mennonite church, Dallas, at the time of her passing. She was very faithful in attendance at church services, prayer meetings, S. S. and mission society. A year ago she was awarded a pin for two years of attendance without being absent a Sunday.

She is survived by seven children, Mrs. Agneta [''sic'' Aganetha] Wiens and Mrs. Marie Balzer of Dallas, Franz D. Hiebert, Deer Creek, Okla., Jacob D. Hiebert, Custer, Wash., William D., Henry D. and Gustav M. Hubert, Newport, Wash.; one brother, Peter F. Janzen and one sister, Lizzie Janzen, both of Walton, Kans.; 78 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

After her marriage she lived in several different localities including Syracuse, Kans., Pryor and Medford, Okla., Perryton, Texas, and Newport, Wash, where her husband passed away, and the last years at Dallas, Ore.

Funeral services were held at Grace Mennonite church on Tuesday, July 13, with Rev. J. M. Franz in charge. The body was taken to Newport, Wash, where funeral services at the Mennonite church on July 16 were in charge of Rev. Rudolf Schmidt and Rev. P. D. Unruh. Burial was beside her husband in the church cemetery.

MRS. MARIE HIEBERT
