text of obituary:
MRS. SARA HIEBERT
Mrs. Sara Buller Hiebert, daughter of Henry and Sara Buller, was born in McPherson county April 2, 1880, and passed from this life Dec. 30, 1948, at the Aurora Nebraska Nursing Home at the age of 68 years 9 months and 28 days.
She was baptized upon confession of faith in her Redeemer May 21, 1899, and joined the Alexanderwohl church near Goessel, Kansas. She was a diligent and faithful worker in the church, where she attended as long as her health permitted. Since the family moved to Deshler, Nebraska, Mrs. Hiebert transferred her church letter to the Presbyterian church of that city. However Aug. 8, 1948, upon her request to belong to her mother church again, she was received into the Alexanderwohl church.
She was united in marriage with Henry Hiebert, Oct. 9, 1902. To this union four sons and five daughters were born. Her husband preceded her in death April 8, 1946.
She came to Deshler, Nebraska with her husband and family 23 years ago, in the year 1923, and lived there until the death of her husband. Upon failing health she made her home with her children. She spent the last two and one-half weeks of her life in the Aurora Nebraska Nursing Home.
She leaves to mourn her passing: nine children, Mrs. Matilda Sampson, Saint Mary, Ohio, Mrs. Pauline Doell, Bradshaw, Nebraska, Mrs. Agnes Dill, Rock Island, Ill., Henry Hiebert, Sickleville, New Jersey, Albert Hiebert, Berlin, New Jersey, Mrs. Josephine Payne, Kearney, Nebraska, Bennett Hiebert, Deshler, Nebraska, Mrs. Myrtle Thomas, Deshler, Eddie Hiebert, Berlin, N. J.; four brothers, Andrew Buller, Hillsboro, Kans. Jacob S. Buller, Burdick, Kansas, Peter Buller, Goessel, Kansas, John Buller, Canton, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. Henry K. Wiebe, Goessel, and Mrs. Peter Pankratz, Canton; fourteen grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. Two brothers and one sister as well as her parents preceded her in death.
She was a kind and loving mother, always mindful of her children, anxious that they should have the best of everything. This and many other things will always leave sweet memories of one who's [sic] work was well done.
Funeral services were conducted in the Alexanderwohl Mennonite church on Monday afternoon at 1:30. Rev. Philip A. Wedel, pastor of the church, had charge of the services. Interment was made in the Alexanderwohl church cemetery, where the husband of the departed was buried in April 1946.
