— Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Alexanderwohl Church for Henry G. Hiebert, 77, who died July 13 at Bethesda Hospital in Goessel. Rev. Aaron Epp, the pastor, officiated. In former years Mr. Hiebert farmed near Hillsboro and more recently had been employed as janitor at the Hillsboro bank. He is survived by his second wife, the former Mrs. Agnetha Schmidt, three daughters, four sons and four step-children, all of this area except a son living in Colorado, two brothers, three sisters, 24 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

HENRY G. HIEBERT

Henry G. Hiebert, Hillsboro, Kan. son of Jacob P. Hiebert and Aganetha Goertz, was born in Marion County, Kan. on March 20, 1884.

He accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized May 31, 1903 upon his confession by Rev. Peter Balzer and became a member of the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, Goessel, Kan., where he was a faithful member until his death.

On Nov. 9, 1905, he entered holy wedlock with Maria Schmidt in the Alexanderwohl Church. Rev. C. C. Wedel officiated. To this union were born seven children. Farming served as the means for earning a livelihood. Mother Hiebert died Nov. 22, 1945.

On Nov. 1, 1947, he found another helpmeet, and married Mrs. Aganetha Nickel Schmidt. Rev. P. A. Wedel officiated. In January 1951 they moved from the farm to Hillsboro.

He was a kind and loving husband and father. He never neglected his family worship and was very regular in attending church services. He worked hard and was punctual in all he did.

His parents, two sisters, one brother and three grandchildren preceded him in death. He enjoyed good health during his life.

On July 5 he entered the Bethesda Hospital and went to be with the Lord July 13, 1961, at 9:15 a. m.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Agenetha [sic Aganetha], four sons and three daughters, Menno M. Hiebert, Hillsboro, Lena, Mrs. Ruben Hiebert, Elisabeth, Mrs. Amadeus Frey, Paul M. Hiebert, Tina, Mrs. Frank Koehn, and Otto Heibert, all of Newton, Kan.; Levi Hiebert, Pueblo, Colo.; 24 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step children, Frieda, Mrs. Edward J. Schroeder, Hillsboro; Esther, Mrs. Jacob U. Flaming, Newton; Orie, Hillsboro; Roland, Wichita; 14 step grandchildren and one step great-grandchild; two brothers, Jacob, Goessel; Ben, Walton; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Schmidt, and Lizzie Hiebert, Goessel; and Mrs. J. U. Schmidt, Newton.
