Hiebert, Harley (1943-1944)
Mennonite Weekly Review obituary: 1944 Jun 8 p. 5
Birth date: 1943
text of obituary:
. . .
—Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hiebert, formerly of Goessel and now serving in a mental hospital at Winnebago, Wisconsin, have the deep sympathy of their many friends in the death of their 11 months old baby boy Harley, who died at the Bethesda Hospital in Goessel Sunday afternoon. For some months Harley had been staying with Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Nickel, parents of Mrs. Hiebert living about one and one-fourth miles east of Goesssel, and had been in perfect health. Recently his new teeth gave him some trouble and Saturday he became ill with convulsions. He was taken to a doctor and received medical care but on Sunday his condition became worse and he later passed away. The parents in Wisconsin were notified of his serious condition on Sunday and left immediately on their car to rush to the bedside of their dying child. When a second message informing them of the little boy's death was sent them soon afterward, it evidently failed to reach them, as they were already on the way to Kansas. Funeral services were held at the Alexanderwohl church Wednesday afternoon.
