FRANK W. HIEBERT

Frank W. Hiebert was born may 10, 1864, to Claus and Anna Hiebert in the village of Lichtefeld [sic Lichtenfeld], South Russia. At the age of 12 years he came with his parents to America, settling on a far six miles north of Bingham Lake, Minn. Here he spent his boyhood days. In 1885, on confession of faith, he was baptized by Elder Aaron Wall and received as a member of the church.

On December 30, 1888, he was united in marriage with Elizabeth Thieszen and settled on a farm north of Bingham Lake, where they lived 22 years. Afterwards they moved to Bingham Lake.

Here he spent the rest of his life at different occupations. In 1938 they observed their golden wedding anniversary.

On January 7, 1940, his wife was taken from him, after which Mr. Hiebert was very lonely but found great comfort in the Word of God. In the last years he especially enjoyed the little children among whom he came to be known as Grandpa.

His health began to fail last fall, so that during the latter part of March he went to live with his daughter, Mrs. Abe D. Wall. He spent much time in prayer and reading the Bible, which made him very happy.

On April 25 he suffered a stroke, which left his right arm paralyzed, and on Saturday April 27, 1946, at 8:50 P. M. he went to his eternal home. He patiently endured to the end. Although he suffered a lot of pain the last few days, he never complained. He remained conscious to the end, which had been his expressed wish and prayer.

There are left to mourn his passing six children, Anna, Mrs. August Baer of Salem, Oregon; Mary, Mrs. Abe D. Wall of Mountain Lake; Frank Hiebert of Bingham Lake; Ernest W. Hiebert of Mountain Lake; Katherine Hiebert of Windom, Minn., also two sons-in-law; two daughters-in-law; 13 grandchildren, two of whom are in the armed forces; six great-grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers, besides a host of relatives.

Preceding him in death were his wife, two children, one daughter-in-law, two grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild, two brothers and one sister.

He reached the age of 81 years, 11 months, and 17 days. He will be greatly missed, however we are reconciled because we know he went home to his Saviour.
