— Funeral services for Frank Hiebert, 73, of Goessel were held Tuesday forenoon at the Bethesda Home for Aged in Goessel and the Walton Mennonite church, Rev. C. D. Boese and Rev. P. A. Wedel officiating. Mr. Hiebert died Thursday evening, Aug. 20, at the Bethesda hospital in Goessel. For a number of years he was custodian of the Walton high school, and for the past two years he and Mrs. Hiebert had been employed at the Bethesda Home. Survivors include his wife, the former Olga Siemens; two sons, Franklin of Newton and Lee Ray, serving in the Army in Germany; one daughter, Mrs. Art Janzen of Newton; six grandchildren; five brothers and three sisters.

FRANK HIEBERT

Frank Hiebert, son of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Hiebert, departed this life August 20, 1959, at the Bethesda Hospital in Goessel, Kan.

He was born March 11, 1886, in Marion County, Kan., in a rural community near Goessel. It was here that he received his catechism instruction and accepted Christ as his personal Saviour. He was baptized and received into membership of the Alexanderwohl church by Rev. Peter Balzer in June 1905.

On Oct. 25, 1925, he was united in holy matrimony to Olga Siemens. To this union were born one daughter, Louise Agnes (Mrs. Arthur H. Janzen) of Newton, and two sons, Franklin Junior of Newton, and Lee Ray, with the United States Army in Germany.

On June7, 1942, he and Mrs. Hiebert became charter members of the newly organized Walton Mennonite Church in Walton, and he remained a faithful member until his death.

He served as custodian at the Walton School for eleven years. On May 4, 1957, they moved to Goessel and became employed at the Bethesda Home for the Aged, and served there until his death. Father was a hard and conscientious worker and made many friends everywhere he lived. In the home for the aged he made many friends, and was always ready with a word of cheer for those who were depressed. He will be greatly missed by them.

A year ago Father had an operation and was completely recovered until a few months ago when he had a complete physical checkup. This seemingly, found him in good health. His death came suddenly and unexpectedly. We will miss him. He was always happy to have his children and grandchildren come home. Father looked forward to seeing his new grandson born in Germany, who was to come home with in another year.

He reached the age of 73 years, five months, and nine days. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Olga; the three children, six grandchildren; five brothers, Pete, Leonard and Rudolf of Walton, John and Dietrich of Newton; three sisters, Mrs. Sam H. (Justina) Schmidt of Peabody, Mrs. Henry (Anna) Neufeld of Newton and Miss Agnes Hiebert of Walton, and a host of friends.
