Girl, Young Mother Die on Ohio Highway

Sugarcreek, Ohio. — Separate accidents on Highway 62 recently claimed the lives of a 15-year-old Millersburg girl and a Wilmot mother of four.

Four daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Joe D. Hershberger of rural Millersburg were walking along the highway north of Berlin to attend a Christmas play on Dec. 19 when they were hit by a car driven by Eli M. Miller, 17, of rural Sugarcreek.

Fifteen-year-old Fannie was dead on arrival at the Millersburg hospital. The others were not seriously hurt. Funeral services for the girl were held at her home on Dec. 23.

Early Sunday morning, Dec. 21, the car driven by Mrs. Fannie Hershberger, 31, of Wilmot left the highway near Mt. Eaton and struck an unoccupied parked car. She was dead on arrival at the hospital in Orrville.

She leaves four young children of the home and her mother, Mrs. Lizzie Miller. The funeral was held Dec. 23 at the Longenecker Mennonite Church.
