(MRS.) MARIA HEINRICHS

Maria Heinrichs (nee Dyck) was born on December 1, 1868 in South Russia the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. David D. Dyck. At the age of seven she emigrated to the United States with her parents who settled in Marion County, Kansas. Here she was later baptized and received into the membership of the Mennonite Brethren Church. On February 15, 1890 she was married to John Heinrichs of Lehigh, Kansas and together she and her husband moved first to Oklahoma and later to Saskatchewan settling at Waldheim. Five sons and five daughters were born to this union. Her husband predeceased her in 1952.

Mrs. Heinrichs continued to live in her own home until 1960 when she sold her property and moved to the Dalmeny Home for the Aged. She continued to enjoy good health almost to the end and was keen and alert in her mind until the last. She died April 8 having attained an age of 96 years. Funeral services were held in the Hepburn Mennonite Brethren Church with the brethren H. S. Rempel and George Geddert ministering.

She is survived by four daughters, flve sons, 54 grandchildren, 54 greatgrandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
