Jacob A. Heinrichs was born to Abraham and Helena (Peters) Heinrichs at Henderson, Neb. on Aug. 20, 1886, and died on May 1, 1975 at the age of 88.

When he was two years old his parents homesteaded at Kirk, Colo. He accepted Jesus as his personal Saviour at the age of 10, and was baptized on June 25, 1896 by Jacob G. Friesen and became a member of the Kirk M. B. Church.

He was married to Mary Warkentin on Aug. 8, 1907, by Jacob F. Friesen. They made their living by farming at Kirk, Colo. for the next 20 years. They moved to Enid, Okla. in 1927 and in 1938 to Collinsville. After also living at Tulsa a few years, they moved to Reedley, Calif. in 1944.

In addition to farming he made his living by carpentry. He was a man of prayer and deep devotion to the Lord.

He and his wife moved to Palm Haven Rest Home in 1966 and to Pleasant View Manor in 1968. They celebrated their silver wedding anniversary at Enid, Okla. and the golden, 60th and 65th anniversaries at Reedley.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of Reedley; four daughters, Helena, Mrs. David K. Ediger of Henderson, Neb., Lydia, Mrs. J. D. Koop of Oklahoma City, Okla., Susan, Mrs. Albert Schroeder of Collinsville, Okla. and Mrs. Linda Plett of Reedley, four sons, Herbert W. of Denver, Colo., David J. of Joes, Colo., Ernest V. of Fresno, Calif., and Robert B. of San Jose, Calif.; 31 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren; and one brother, David A. Heinrichs of Abbotsford, B. C.

He was predeceased by one son, Alvin, and three daughters: Mary, in infancy, Irma Plett and Edna Ediger.

JACOB A. HEINRICHS
