PETER HEINRICHS

Peter Heinrichs, son of Jacob and Eva (Buller) Heinrichs, was born at Henderson, York County, Neb., on May 28, 1890 at 6:30 p.m. and passed into his heavenly home on May 26, 1955, at 5:30 a.m., just two days before his 65th birthday.

He was found by his Saviour in Jan. 1915 and was baptized and taken into the Mennonite Brethren church on June 27, 1915.

After his mother’s death he and father lived together until father passed away. After father’s death Peter was taken to Montana where he stayed with his brothers until the fall og 1936, when he again returned to Henderson. In November 1947 he came to Oregon and has stayed with his sister Helena for some time and later with his brother John until the time of his death.

On Thursday, May 19, shortly after noon he had a light stroke on his right side, from which he rallied somewhat. On Saturday morning, May 21, as he arose for the day he suffered another heavy stroke which parlyzed [sic] his whole right side. He was taken to the hospital and after a hard physical struggle he peacefully passed into his heavenly home.

After he had suffered his stroke he could not talk but he gave clear evidence that he was ready to go. He has left a testimony to many strangers of his Christian life and also has asked many people about their soul’s salvation.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. He leaves to mourn his death three brothers, Jacob, Abe and John; two sisters, Sara and Helena; three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, his nephews and nieces and a host of friends. — The Family.
