FALL PROVES FATAL TO REEDLEY RESIDENT

Reedley, Calif., July 12. — Peter Heinrichs died Wednesday afternoon, from injuries sustained when he fell about twenty feet from a house he was moving to a lot of G. A. Jensen on L. street.

Mr. Heinrichs was the contractor who had the work of moving the L. R. Webb house from F avenue to the Jensen lot, as Mr. Jensen had purchased the house and had engaged Mr. Heinrichs to do the moving.

Tuesday afternoon, point on 10th street, between K and L, some electric wires stretched across the street, were not high enough for the house to pass under. Mr. Heirnichs climbed to the top of the house and lifted the wires and signaled for the men who were operating the truck to go on. As the truck started to move, Mr. Heinrichs lost his footing and fell the entire distance to the fround [sic].

Mr. Heinrichs sustained a broken jaw, hip, arm and concussions. He was given aid by a Reedley physician and then rushed to a Fresno hospital, but his death occurred the next evening following the accident. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sarah Heinrichs, and two sons and one daughter. The sons are Reuben, age 18, William 14 and the daughter, Lena, is 15 years old.

Peter Heinrichs was 42 years old. he came to Reedley nine years ago from Colorado and was considered an upright man, kind to his family, beloved by neighbors and friends. For the past eight years he was associated with his cousin, B. B. Heinrichs in the house moving business. He had assisted in most of the moving of buildings in the city since that time.

His aged parents reside in Canada. They are Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Heinrichs and have wired stating that it is impossible for them to make the trip to Reedley at this time. His brothers who survive him are Abraham, of Texas, John and Kornelius, of Colorado, Jacob, of Oklahoma, Aaron, David and Samuel, of Canada. The sisters are Mr. [sic] Maggie Braun, of Reedley and Mrs. Mary Koop, of Oklahoma.

A corner's inquest was held Thursday afternoon at which the verdict stated death was caused by a fractured skull and hemmorage [sic], due to accidentally falling from a house while moving it.

The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the Mennonite Brethren Church. Sermon will be delivered by Rev. D. C. Eitzen. Burial will follow in the Reedley cemetery. — Reedley Exponent.
