KATIE M. HEIDEBRECHT

Our loving sister, Katie M. Heidebrecht, was born March 7, 1883 at Inman, Kan. to John and Kathryn (Richert) Heidebrecht. In 1894 she moved with her parents to a farm southwest of Corn, Okla.

On Nov. 30, 1902 she was baptized upon her confession of faith by Elder Abram Ratzlaff and received into the Bergthal Mennonite Church, where she remained a faithful member to her death.

After mother's death in 1939 she resided in her home near her brother. In 1954 sh entered the Corn Home for the Aged, due to her arthritis condition. Here she enjoyed the Christian fellowship and the worship services which came to the home over the intercom, but the most precious moments for her were the daily devotional services held each evening. She never missed these services as long as her health permitted.

One of the joyful experiences of her life was when her brother Henry and his wife celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at which time there was a family reunion.

On August 21, 1962 she was stricken with a severe heart attack and taken to the Cordell Hospital, where she remained for six weeks. Due to a stroke her left side remained paralyzed. On Thursday, Jan. 24, 1963 she departed to be with the Lord at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 17 days.

She leaves to mourn five brothers, Pete of the Home for Aged, Dan and Henry of Corn, Walter of Altus, Okla., and Cornelius of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Anna Ratzlaff of Corn and Marie (Mrs. C. W. Vogt) of Corn; six sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and many relatives and friends. Those preceding her in death were her parents, four brothers, two sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law.
The Family.
