Mrs. Dave (Katie) Heidebrecht, 81, of Buhler died March 29 at Grace Hospital in Hutchinson. The funeral was conducted Sunday afternoon at the Buhler Mennonite Church, with Rev. Harold D. Thieszen officiating. Besides her husband, survivors include two sons, Allen of Findlay, Ohio and Raymond of Great Bend, Kan.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dave (Katie) Heidebrecht, 81, of Buhler died March 29 at Grace Hospital in Hutchinson. The funeral was conducted Sunday afternoon at the Buhler Mennonite Church, with Rev. Harold D. Thieszen officiating. Besides her husband, survivors include two sons, Allen of Findlay, Ohio and Raymond of Great Bend, Kan.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

MRS. DAVID C. HEIDEBRECHT

Mrs. Katie (Bargen) Heidebrecht, daughter of Jacob J. and Elizabeth (Harder) Bargen, was born on Sept. 17, 1896, in Reno County, Kansas. She died on March 29, 1968, after an extended illness. She reached the age of 81 years.

She and David C. Heidebrecht were united in marriage on Dec. 22, 1906. to this union were born two sons, Allen and Raymond.

She and her husband were baptized upon their confession of faith in Jesus Christ by the Rev. P. R. Voth on March 16, 1924, and received into the Buhler Mennonite Church, Buhler, Kan. They were privileged to observe three important wedding anniversaries, the silver, golden and the diamond (60th) wedding anniversaries. They were privileged to share married life for 61 years.

No sacrifice was too great and work had no bounds as far as her family was concerned. She had love and concern for humanity and desired peace among all men. She was always concerned for the needs of the hungry people in this world. The Senior Sewing Circle and quilting were a real pleasure for her. Hand work and crocheting, flowers and plants revealed her creativity and appreciation for the Creator’s handiwork.

She is survived by her husband, David C. Heidebrecht; two sons, Allen and wife Delma of Findlay, Ohio, and Raymond and wife Ruth of Great Bend, Kan.; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
