JOHN HEIDEBRECHT

John Heidebrecht, our loving husband and father, was born on Dec. 14, 1879, near Inman, Kansas, the son of John and Katherine Heidebrecht. He passed away on Aug. 19, 1954, at the home of his daughter in Fresno, Calif. He reached the age of 74 years, eight months and five days.

At the age of about 30 our father was convicted of his need of a Savior. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized by Elder Heinrich Voth upon his confession of faith. He became a member of the Mennonite Brethren church of Gladwin, Mich.

On Jan. 15, 1914, he joined hands with Katherine Wiebe in holy matrimony. This union, which lasted for 40 years, seven months and four days, was blessed with four daughters. Two of these daughters preceded their father in death.

We established our first home in Reedley, Calif. After that we lived in Oklahoma, and also at Shafter, Calif. About six years ago we moved to Fresno, Calif. The Lord has blessed us and given us many happy times.

The last two years our father’s health had been failing. We did the best we could for him but his days were numbered. We have the firm hope that he has gone to be with the Lord.

He leaves to mourn his departing, his wife, Mrs. Katherine Heidebrecht of 1521 Durante Street, Fresno, Calif.; two daughters, Mildred, Mrs. Garth Utter and Lorraine, Mrs. George Herbert, both of Fresno; six grandchildren; five brothers, Peter, Dan and Henry of Corn, Okla., Walter of Altus, Okla. and Curt of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Ratzlaff, Miss Katherine Heidebrecht, and Mrs. Marie Vogt, of Corn, Okla. Besides these there are many other friends and relatives that stand by in this hour of sorrow. — The Family.
