Mrs. Anna Heidebrecht

Mrs. Anna Heidebrecht, was born April 3, 1876, in Prangnau, South Russia. In 1884 she came to America with her parents and settled on a farm west of Moundridge, Kansas, till 1894, when they moved to Washita county, Okla. Here she endured all the hardships of pioneer days. In the first days of April, 1896, she was converted and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized by Elder Dietrich Gaddert [sic Gaeddert] on the 16th of the month and remained a faithful member to the end.

On October 25, 1899, she was united in marriage to P. L. Heidebrecht. To this union were born 2 sons and 4 daughters. In 1918 she suffered almost a year from sciatic rheumatism, soon after she was stricken with typhoid fever. God helped her through all this and she enjoyed fairly good health till October 14, 1937, when she had a light stroke. But also recovered from this. Then on January 3, 1939 she had another light stroke, and since then has not been in good health, and has been continually under doctor's care the last two and one-half years. Anemia was her ailment. She was a member of the Mission sewing Society and enjoyed the work very much, was always present as long as her health permitted it. She enjoyed Sunday school and church services very much and was generally present until her health failed her. Her favorite Bible verse was Psalm 37: 5, "commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass." The departed had to go through much suffering, but her faith in the Lord remained unshaken until the end.

Those preceding her in death were one daughter, 2 grandchildren, her parents, 8 sisters, and one brother in infancy. she departed this life at eleven o'clock on the morning of May 27, 1941, at the age of 65 years, 1 month and 24 days. She was privileged to live together with her husband 41 years, 7 months and 2 days. She is survived by her husband, 2 sons, Arthur and Sam of the home address, 3 daughters, Mrs. T. H. Kliewer, Mrs. A. T. Harms, and Mrs. R. B. Schmidt, all of Cordell, 2 daughters-in-law, 3 sons-in-law, and 18 grandchildren, one sister Mrs. P. G. Baergen, 2 brothers J. J. Peters, Monroe, Washington, and J. A. Peters, Meadow Lake, Sask., Canada, a number of cousins at Reedley, calif., Dallas, Oregon, and Yarrow, B. C.

Beyond life's gateway there's an open gate at the end of the road through which each must go alone, and there in a light we cannot see our Father claims his own. Beyond the gate our loved one finds happiness and rest and there is comfort in the thought that a loving God knows best.
