13-YEAR OLD VIRGINIA BOY LOSES CONTROL OF TRACTOR, FATALLY HURT

Dayton, Va. — A large congregation gathered at the Bank Mennonite church here on Wednesday forenoon, Aug. 13, as final services were held for Ivan Heatwole, 13 who lost his life, when the tractor he was driving overturned after crossing a ditch. he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Heatwole.

The boy and another son, Lester, 11 years old, were hauling manure from the chicken house into the field when the tractor somehow went out of control and upset after passing over a shallow ditch. Ivan received a fatal head injury and Lester was only slightly injured.
