— Funeral services were held at the Pennsylvania church near Hesston Tuesday afternoon for Henry A. Heatwole, 76, who was born at Canada, Kans. and lived in Harvey county since the age of seven. He died Saturday afternoon at the Axtell Christian hospital in Newton. He leaves his wife, Amelia, nine children, 23 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, as well as three sisters: Mrs. C. A. Holdeman of LaJunta, Colo., Mrs. Susie Yoder and Mrs. J. G. Hartzler, both of Windom. Mr. Heatwole had lived in Newton since 1900, and formerly was a livestock buyer.

HENRY A. HEATWOLE

Henry Albert Heatwole, son of Reuben and Margaret Kilmer Heatwole, was born Nov. 28, 1873, at Canada, Kansas, and passed away Feb. 18, 1950, at the Axtell Christian hospital Newton, following an illness of 24 days. He reached the age of 76 years.

At an early age he moved with his parents to Harvey county, Kansas, where he grew to manhood. On December 25, 1900, he was united in marriage to Amelia Ann Byler. To this union were born seven sons and two daughters. With the exception of four years spent in Brandon, Colo., Harvey county has been the family home. In his business as a cattle buyer, he made many friends who will long remember him as a man who lived his beliefs every day in all that he did.

He was converted at an early age, and always took a firm hand for the things he believed in. He was a charter member of the East Emmet church and was known for his friendly and generous spirit, always contributing generously to the Interest of the Kingdom. His faith was deep, and he was greatly interested in Salvation, always seeking opportunity to cheer and help others. He was always ready to give expression in testimony to the redeeming Grace of God.

Surviving, besides his companion, are nine children, Earl C. and Ethel A. of Brawley, Calif., John H. of Newton, Kans., Reuben J. of Fort Worth, Tex., Mary Ellen Louthan of Rose Hill, Kansas, Chester E., Delbert B. , and Ralph E., all of Salina, and Ross A. of the home; three sisters, Sarah Holdeman of La Junta, Colo., Susie Yoder and Martha Hartzler of Windom, Kans.; twenty-three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. One sister, Lydia, preceded him in death.

He will be greatly missed in the church, in the community,
