PETER A. HAUDER

Peter Andrew, son of Christian S. and Margaret A. Hauder, was born in Woodford county, Ill. on Jan. 10, 1885, and passed away in Goshen, Ind. Feb. 26, 1955.

He moved with his parents and family from Cullom, Ill. to Garden City, Mo. in 1899. In his youth he united with the Bethel (Mennonite) church of which his father was then pastor. He lived a courteous and exemplary life as a Christian in school, as a teacher, farmer or a clerk. He was rate clerk in the New York Central Railroad system for 37 years. He served his church in many capacities.

He married Miss Wilma Smoker at Goshen, Ind. on Dec. 24, 1910. Homemaking began on a farm near Garden City, Mo. Following a few years spent near Ishpeming, Mich., the home has been in Goshen, Ind. the past 37 years.

Mrs. Hauder preceded him in death Feb. 10, 1952. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. George (Inez) Parkko of Anchorage, Alaska and Mrs. G. W. (Roberts) Hostetler of Harlan, Ind.; four grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Pearl Helmuth of Huntington Park, Calif.

Funeral services were held at the Eighth Street Mennonite church, Goshen, Ind. on Feb. 26, Rev. Robert Hartzler officiating. Burial was in Violette cemetery.
