Nora E. Hartzler was born Dec. 30, 1892, at Smithville, Ohio, to Simon and Emma Musser Burkholder.

She was married to Raymond L. Hartzler on Feb. 12, 1919. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1988.

She was a longtime resident of central Illinois, where she was a member earlier of Carlock Mennonite Church and later the Mennonite Church of Normal. She was active in the Mennonite Hospital Auxiliary and served as a volunteer in the hospital coffee shop.

She died Nov. 15, 1988, in Bloomington at the age of 95. Funeral services were held Nov. 18, 1988, at the Mennonite Church of Normal, with Tom Kauffman, Evelyn Bertsche and Don Nester officiating. Burial was in Ropp Mennonite Cemetery, Normal.

Survivors include two sons, Wilton of High Point, N. C., and Ellwyn of Pandora, Ohio; two daughters, Donna Harnish of Tiskilwa, Ill., and Willadene Keeney of Kent, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
