West Virginia Youth Dies in Car Crash

Dayton, Va. — The first funeral conducted in the new Bank Mennonite Church building near here was that of Herman Dean Hartzler, 20, who lost his life in a one-car accident Oct. 3.

The young man, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul D. Hartzler of Riverton, W. Va., was returning home after visiting his fiancee near here when his car left the road near Franklin, Va. It crashed into a culvert, turned over several times and caught fire.

The youth was a member of the Fairview Mennonite Church at Riverton, and was employed by his father who operates the Hartzler Dairy there.
