Body of Pastor's Son Recovered from River

Warroad, Minn. — A six-day search for three-year-old Calvin Harms, son of Rev. and Mrs. Chryston Harms of Warroad ended Monday, April 10, when the child's body was recovered from the Warroad River where he had fallen into the icy water on April 4.

The recovery ended hundreds of man hours of searching, including a complete canvass of the neighborhood by volunteers who netted and dragged the river in an effort to find the boy, who had wandered from his home.

Funeral services for Calvin Dean were held April 12 in the Woodland Mennonite Church, with Rev. A. F. Ortmann and Rev. Leonard Lindholm officiating. Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery.

The child was born here Oct. 11, 1963. Besides his parents he leaves two brothers, Melvin (his twin) and Randall, and two sisters, Denise and Dellene.
