TINA HARDER

Tina Harder of Clearbrook, B.C. passed away Aug. 16. She was born Aug. 21, 1890 in Russia. Her father died and she realized her need of Christ. She accepted him at 18 and was baptized. Luke 10:20 was given her. She desired to serve the Lord and went to work at the orphanage in Grossweide, Molotschna. Here she met and married John A. Harder, son of the orphanage founder. The communists took over the orphanage, and they immigrated to Canada in 1924. They moved back and forth, and the years were difficult. She supported John as minister of the congregation in Yarrow, B.C. until 1947. They had a great interest in foreign missions. They pastored Black Creek (B.C.) MB Church for 3 years before retiring to Clearbrook in 1963. John died in 1964. She spent her last 19 years in Tabor Home. She became increasingly grateful and adapted readily to changing conditions, but longed to go home. She is mourned by her children John, Fred, Lil, Rose, David and Berta; 27 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. The funeral was Aug. 21 in Clearbrook MB Church, with, I.E. Klassen and H.H.
