One Sister Killed, Two Injured in Western Kansas Crash

Hesston, Kan. — A two-car crash at the east edge of Leoti, Kan. the evening of Oct. 7 claimed the life of Mrs. Edna Harder, 68, of Colorado Springs and injured her two sisters, Mrs. Melva Brunk, 72, of Hesston and Mrs. Lydia Driver, 82, of Versailles, Mo.

Mrs. Harder died in the hospital at Leoti about four hours after the accident. Her funeral was held Oct. 10 at Versailles.

Mrs. Brunk, the driver, was taking her sisters to Colorado Springs. She was released from the hospital the following day and was brought back to Schowalter Villa by James Hershberger. Mrs. Driver was brought back by ambulance and then taken to the home of a nephew in Leonard, Mo.
