KORNELIA HARDER

Kornelia Harder was born on Sept. 1, 1884, to Mr. and Mrs. Johann Harder on a farm near Henderson, in York county, Nebr. She was the fifth daughter of the family.

She received her schooling in the rural school near her home. She was baptized upon the confession of her faith in 1904 and received into the Bethesda Mennonite church by Rev. Peter Friesen, and has remained a faithful member of that church.

After the death of her parents the home was broken up. Together with her sister Helena they established a home in the town of Henderson.

Following a stroke, her health failed considerably. When it became apparent that the two sisters were unable to take care of themselves, they were admitted to the Klinger nursing home in Aurora. Nebr. In Feb. 1949 the Sunshine Home in Buhler, Kans. became their home. Here she became helpless and was confined to her bed most of the time.

On Dec. 4, 1950, she was transferred back to the Klinger Nursing home in Aurora. On Dec. 13 she recognized some friends who came to see her, but Friday it became apparent the end of her life was near. She suffered a stroke while eating breakfast and passed away on Dec. 16, 1950, at 6 p. m. at the age of 66 years, three months and 16 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure one sister Helena of the Sunshine Home in Buhler, one sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob J. Boehr of Langham, Sask., six nieces and four nephews. Her parents, two sisters and one infant brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at the Bethesda church in Henderson on Dec. 19, 1950, Rev. John F. Epp spoke comforting words to the bereaved in the German and English language. For the German text he chose Psalm 23, and for the text in English he chose I Cor. 15:42. 44. Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Kliewer and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Schmidt sang three songs entitled. "Wo findet die Seele die Heimat der ruh," 'Weil ich am Ufer des Jordans Steh," and "Thy Way Not Mine, O Lord.” Funeral arrangements were in charge of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Wall of Hampton, Nebr.
