BEN HARDER

Ben Harder of Leamington, Ontario, was killed instantly on December 22 as a result of an automobile accident. He and his family were traveling from Tilbury, Ontario, to Leamington when the accident occurred. His wife, Helga, and son Michael were severely injured. Another son, Brian, was unhurt.

Ben Harder was born December 27, 1930, in Winkler, Man., the son of Rev. and the late Mrs. H. P. Harder. Ben grew up at Winkler and there early in life accepted Christ as his personal Saviour.

Approximately 20 years ago he came to Ontario and found employment in the Leamington area. On September 2, 1951 he was baptized upon confession of faith and accepted into the membership of the Leamington Mennonite Brethren Church of which he was a member until his death.

He was married to the former Helga Boshman on June 25, 1955. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Brian and Michael, and they enjoyed many happy times together. His memory is treasured by his family and by the church which he served gladly and willingly.

Surviving to mourn are his wife, Helga; his sons, Brian and Michael; his father, Rev. H. P. Harder of Winnipeg; and five sisters, Helen of India, Mrs. J.P. (Catharine) Doerksen of Alexander, Man., Gertrude, Margaret and Susie (Mrs. Henry Loewen) of Winnipeg; and many relatives and friends.

His passing reminds us of the words of Psalm 90:12: "So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts to wisdom."
