MRS. KATHERINE HAMILTON

Katherine C. Hamilton, daughter of Sol and Mary Plank, was born Nov. 5, 1901, in Bruning, Neb., and departed this life June 22, 1959, at Harper, Kan. at the age of 57 years, seven months and 17 days.

She was baptized in the Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church at the age of 15, and remained a faithful member until death.

She was united in marriage to Jess Hamilton on Sept. 30, 1928, and they lived at Abilene, Kan. for 11 years, returning to Harper in May 1939. To this union one child was born.

She took an active part in civic and community affairs. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved to raise flowers. She will be remembered by many for her friendly smile and the many good deeds she did for others. Her faith in the Lord helped to ease the burden of her eight months' illness.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband Jess of Harper, Kan.; her daughter Betty Lou, son-in-law Harold D. Honn and grand-daughter Katherine Lou, of La Crosse, Kan.; her father, S. B. Plank of Harper; one brother, John of Harper; three sisters, Sylvia Bauer and Ella Plank, both of Harper, and Ida Yoder of Newton, Kan.; 12 nieces and nephews and 11 great nieces and nephews. Her mother and one brother, Robert, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held June 24 at the Brownell-Wiley funeral home in Harper, Rev. Merle Bender officiating. Interment was made in the Pleasant Valley cemetery.
