WIDELY KNOWN LANCASTER COUNTY AUCTIONEER TAKEN BY DEATH
Lancaster, Pa. — John L. Halligan, 59, an auctioneer in this county for the past 25 years, passed away suddenly at his home near New Holland on Feb. 9. Death was reported due to a heart attack.
The deceased was well-known as an auctioneer, having conducted many sales of household goods and antiques in this county. He was a member of the Weaverland Mennonite church.
He is survived by his wife, Lizzie Martin Halligan, a daughter, Mrs. Christian Zimmerman of Denver, two sons, Paul Halligan of Ephrata and John Jr., of Akron.
