One Man Instantly Killed As Storm Wrecks Barn.
Dalton, Ohio, June 28. — Much damage was done Tuesday afternoon by the high wind of cyclonic properties that swept a path from west to east about a mile north of Burton [sic Burrton] city.
A barn on the Hahn farm a mile northwest of Burton [sic Burrton] was completely demolished. The farm is owned by Peter Hahn (who resided in Orrville) and operated by his son William Hahn. Mr. Hahn was at the farm when the storm came up, and together with his son, grandson and hired man, took refuge in the barn. The storm struck, completely wrecking the barn, taking the life of the senior Mr. Hahn, severely injuring Ralph Jackson the hired man, the other two escaping without injury. Seven cows were killed and two others so seriously injured that they had to be killed. Also two horses perished. — Dalton Gazette.
