MRS. MAGGIE HAAS

Mrs. Margaret (Marten) Haas died Oct. 7, 1960 in the University of Kansas Medical Center at Kansas City, where she had been taken five days before for medical treatment.

She was born Feb. 26, 1875, in Rossebade, Russia, of German parents and came to this country with her parents and sisters at the age of four. She married William Schroeder in 1894. To this union two sons and one daughter were born. She and her husband parted in 1916, and she raised and supported the children by hard work. In 1926 she married Conrad Haas of Marion, Kan., who died in 1952.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Frank C. (Susie) Barker of Madison, Kan. and two sons, Cornelius Schroeder of Spokane, Wash. and Gustave Schroeder of New Brunswick, N. J.; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Oct. 10, in charge of Eugene K. Wilson, pastor of the First Christian church.
