Emma Guengerich, daughter of Peter and Katherine (Roszhart) Schrock, was born in Kansas on Jan. 22, 1892 and died Dec. 25, 1967 of heart failure in Downey Community Hospital, Downey, Calif.

On January 25, 1916 she was married to Dr. Aaron J. Guengerich, and they made their home in Nebraska and Iowa before moving in 1941 to California, where she has resided ever since.

At an early age she accepted Christ and throughout her life maintained a Christian home. She was a faithful member of Immanuel Mennonite Church in Downey, Calif. for 20 years, and attended services regularly until the past two months when health began to fail.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter and her husband who died June 19, 1961. She is survived by five sons and one daughter, all residents of California; Clarence of South Gate, Delmar of Torrance, Elmer, Kenneth and Richard, all of Downey, and Viola (Mrs. Ezra Kennell) also of Downey; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Schrock of Ontario, Calif. and Dan Schrock of Wellman, Iowa; and one sister, Katherine Schrock, Kalona, Iowa.

Five of Mrs. Guengerich's children are active in the local church were [''sic''] two sons are members of the church council and two serve as ushers, and five granddaughters sing in the ChrisTeen Choir.

She will be greatly missed by family and friends, but we can all rejoice that she had been promoted from "Grace to Glory."

MRS. EMMA GUENGERICH
