DR. AARON J. GUENGERICH

Aaron J. Guengerich, son of Jacob D. and Lydia (Gingerich) Guengerich was born Oct. 2, 1886 in Johnson County, Iowa and passed away on Monday morning, June 19, 1961 at the age of 74 years, eight months and 17 days. Death came unexpectedly from a coronary attack while under observation in the Suburban Hospital in South Gate, Calif.

In his early youth he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized in the Mennonite Church. In 1947 he united with the Immanuel Mennonite Church in Los Angeles where he faithfully served the Lord to the end. He attended church services faithfully except the past few years when health did not permit.

In 1900 he moved with his parents to Centralia, Mo. where he grew to manhood. He attended elementary and secondary schools in Iowa and Missouri and at Hesston College, Hesston, Kansas. Upon leaving Hesston in 1911 he enrolled in the Palmer School of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa where he was graduated with a D. C. degree in 1914. He practiced in the states of Nebraska, Iowa and California until he officially retired in 1956.

On Jan. 25, 1916 he was united in marriage to Emma Schrock near Geneva, Neb. and they enjoyed 45 years together. Surviving besides his loving wife, are five sons and one daughter. Clarence, Mrs. Ezra (Viola) Kennel, twins Elmer and Delmar, and Kenneth and Richard; 13 grandchildren, all of the Los Angeles area; one brother, Ezra of Ontario, Calif.; three sisters, Elizabeth Esch of Phoenix, Ariz., Barbara, Mrs. Henry Yoder, and Nancy, Mrs. John M. Yoder, both of Parnell, Iowa. An infant daughter and an infant grandson preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted June 21 at the Downey Mortuary Chapel by Albert Epp and George H. Beare. Interment was made at Inglewood Park Cemetery.
