Saskatchewan, Melville, 30. Januar, 1916. Es hat dem Herrn über Leben und Tod gefallen, unsern Sohn Johannes in einem Alter von 17 Jahre und 7 Monaten zu sich rufen. Mit 15 Jahren bekehrte er sich und wurde nach seinem Wunsche von Rev. C. Gretzenger im Flusse getauft. Seine Krankheit dauerte drei Wochen. Er hat ein festes Zeugnis hinterlassen, daß er selig abgeschieden ist und jetzt schaut, was er in Schwachheit geglaubt. Wir empfehlen uns der Fürbitte der Geschwister an. English translation:

Melville, Saskatchewan, January 30, 1916. It has pleased the Lord of life and death to call to himself our son Johannes at the age of 17 years and 7 months. At 15 years of age, he converted and as he wished, was baptized in the river by Rev. C. Gretzenger. His illness lasted three weeks. He has left a firm testimony that he is blessedly departed and now looks upon what he believed in weakness. We commend ourselves to the intercession of the brethren.
