Belleville, Pa. — Two Big Valley men were fatally injured in a two-car accident near Leesburg, Florida Dec. 30. Joas C. Kauffman, 78, of rural Belleville died Jan. 6 and Emery Grassmyer, 65, of rural Reedsville on Jan. 4. They were on their way to Sarasota.
Funeral services for Mr. Kauffman were held at the Valley View Amish Church on Jan. 9 with Ministers John Miller, Joseph Miller and Samuel Otto officiating. Mr. Kauffman was a farmer and later served as janitor of the Menno-Union High School at Belleville until 1958.
Min. Elam Click was in charge of funeral services for Mr. Grassmyer on Jan. 8 at the Baggus Funeral Home at Belleville. He was a painter by profession.
Uria Hartzler was the third occupant of the car in which Mr. Kauffman and Mr. Grassmyer were riding. His condition is not known at this time.
