MRS. CATHERINE GOOD

Catherine (Winey) Good, daughter of Caleb and Mary (Graybill) Winey, was born near Osborne, Kan. on July 7, 1880, and departed this life to be with her Saviour on June 3, 1971, at the age of 90 years, ten months and 24 days.

At the age of seven she moved with her parents in covered wagons from Osborne to Peabody, Kan., where she grew to womanhood.

On Dec. 24, 1900 she was married to Charles L. Good, with whom she had 44 years of companionship, until his passing in 1944. They made their home in the Peabody area until 1911 when they moved to a ranch near Las Vegas, New Mexico. They lived there until 1947 when they returned to Kansas.

To this union were born seven children: Maytie, Mrs. Gene Dunken of Wichita, Kan.; Huber of Dallas, Tex.; Bessie Aslin, deceased; Paul of Wichita; Marion of Mustang, Okla.; Chester, deceased; and Maybelle Richert, deceased.

She is survived by one sister, Ruth Potter of Grove, Okla., 18 grandchildren at 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends who will miss her.

Early in life she accepted Christ as her Saviour and remained true to the Mennonite faith until her passing.

She liked receiving and writing letters. She enjoyed writing to the sick, the elderly and shutins, and continued this activity until failing eyesight did not permit her to write.

She spent the last 12 years of her life in a wheel chair. In declining health the past year, she expressed a longing to go to her heavenly Home.

Interment was made in the Peabody City Cemetery, with Rev. Earl Buckwalter of Hesston officiating.
