REV. PETER F. GOERTZEN, 77

Rev. Peter F. Goertzen, 77, of Vineland, Ont., passed away on April 19 after a stroke. Funeral services were held in the Vineland M. B. Church and the Brethren H. P. Wiebe, Abr. Block and J. M. Schmidt officiated at the service.

Mr. Goertzen was born in Russia and was converted at age 20. In 1912 he was married to Katherina Doerksen, who survives him. In 1918 he was ordained into the ministry, in which capacity he continued to serve until his death. He officiated at the Lord's Supper on Good Friday, March 27. During the last week of his life (before his illness) he wrote his own obituary and requested texts which were to be used at his burial service.

He leaves to mourn his wife, 5 sons, 3 daughters and their families. Many friends from all parts of Ontario attended the funeral.
