Wally Gripp, who was the pastor art the time. Mrs. Goertzen shared her experience with her friends and family and also sang of her joy to the church. The last song she sang with a ladies trio was "I'll be a Friend to Jesus."

Her health had been failing for several years and she had been forced to spend much time in the hospital. On February 20 she became suddenly very ill and on February 24 she went to be with the Lord. She was 31 years old . She was predeceased by two brothers.
