MRS. LINDA GOERTZEN

(Mrs.) Linda Goertzen of Herbert, Sask. died of cancer on November 30. She was born to Frank and Helena DeFehr on February 5, 1911 in Main Centre, Sask. She attended public school in the Los Angeles school district (Main Centre area). She accepted Christ as her personal Saviour, was baptized and joined the Main Centre Mennonite Brethren Church August 26, 1928. On October 26, 1939 she married Jacob Goertzen. One of the two sons born to the couple, Ronald, died on J anuary 11, 1942 at the age of five months. The family eventually settled on a farm close to Herbert, and transferred their membership to t he Mennonite Brethren church there. At the age of 37 she was stricken with multiple sclerosis, but remained cheerful and seldom missed church services. In April 1978 she found she had cancer.

She leaves to mourn her husband Jacob; one son, Kenneth and wife Myrna of Regina; three grandchildren; her 93·year-old mother (Mrs.) Helena DeFehr of Herbert; one sister, two brothers and many other relatives and friends. The funeral, in the Herbert Mennonite Brethren Church December 3, was conducted by pastor Jacob Pauls and Henry Voth.
