| + | Funeral services for John F. Goertz, 71, of rural Hillsboro were held Tuesday afternoon at the Johannestal Church near Hillsboro, with Rev. Henry Goossen, the pastor, officiating. Mr. Goertz suffered a stroke on March 2, and seemingly was showing improvement before his death last Friday at Salem Hospital in Hillsboro. He is survived by his widow, Adelia; two daughters, Mrs. Milton (Elda) Penner of rural Hillsboro and Mrs. Harold (Louise) Bartel of North Newton; one son, Linferd of Route 1, Ferndale, Wash.; 11 grandchildren, two sisters and one brother. |

NEWTON and VICINITY
Funeral services for John F. Goertz, 71, of rural Hillsboro were held Tuesday afternoon at the Johannestal Church near Hillsboro, with Rev. Henry Goossen, the pastor, officiating. Mr. Goertz suffered a stroke on March 2, and seemingly was showing improvement before his death last Friday at Salem Hospital in Hillsboro. He is survived by his widow, Adelia; two daughters, Mrs. Milton (Elda) Penner of rural Hillsboro and Mrs. Harold (Louise) Bartel of North Newton; one son, Linferd of Route 1, Ferndale, Wash.; 11 grandchildren, two sisters and one brother.
