Retired missionary nurse to China and Mexico, Elizabeth Goertz, 93, of Parkside Homes, Hillsboro, died on March 31 at Salem Hospital, Hillsboro. Funeral services were held on April 3 at Trinity Mennonite Church, Hillsboro, with Heinz Janzen officiating. Burial was in Haven of Rest Cemetery, Hillsboro. A native of Marion County, she was a 1918 graduate of the Bethel Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Newton. She served in China from 1921 to 1951 before going to Mexico. She had lived in Hillsboro since 1976. Survivors include her brother, T. D. Goertz of Edwardsville, Ill.
