ARTHUR MILTON GOERTZ
Arthur Milton Goertz, youngest son of Henry D. and Anna Goertz, was born June 25, 1921 at Medford, Okla., and departed this life near Mulvane, Kans. Aug. 16, 1955 at the age of 34 years one month and 22 days.
As a boy he lived on a farm north of Medford and attended school at Districts 30 and 31 and Medford high school. He had been employed by Medford business men before entering the service for his country in 1942. He went overseas Nov. 21, 1942 for 27 months with the ordinance [sic] maintenance company in North Africa and Italy. He received his discharge Nov. 28, 1945. His citations were a Good Conduct Medal, EAME Theatre ribbon with two bronze service stars and a World War II victory ribbon.
After returning home he was baptized May 11, 1946, in St. Mary’s Catholic church of Medford and was united in marriage to Pearl Marie Kilian, August 8, 1946, in the St. Mary’s church. To this union were born three children.
He entered business in the Champin [sic Champlin], Phillips 66, and Texaco service stations and Bon Ton Cafe, was employed by Offield Motors and at the time of his death was employed by Honeyman Bros.
He was preceded in death by his father and infant brother.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl, and three children, Roger Dee, 7, Janie Marie, 5, and Rodney Paul, six weeks, of the home; his mother, Mrs. Anna Goertz; sister, Mrs. Hilda Cowger; three brothers, Ted, Clarence and Orval, all of Medford; other relatives and a host of friends.
Interment was made in the Calvary cemetery north of Medford.
