Adina Goering, formerly of North Newton, died Sept. 24 at Memorial Home for the Aged in Moundridge. Services took place Sept. 27 at Eden Mennonite Church with Walter Neufeld in charge. She was married in 1907 to Christian B. Goering. He survives, along with three sons, Erwin C. and Eldon C. of North Newton and Jacob D. of Silver Spring, Md.; six daughters, Elizabeth Wedel of Moundridge, Amanda Goering and Ann Waltner of Newton, Melita Goering of North Newton, Luella Stahly of Akron, Pa., and Evelyn Lehman of Glendale, Mo.; a brother, Paul Goering of Moundridge; three sisters, Anna Goering, Martha Schrag and Matilda Krehbiel, all of Moundridge; 26 grandchildren; 40 great=grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

ADINA GOERING

Adina Goering, daughter of Peter C. and Anna Waltner Goering, was born Aug. 27, 1890 and died Sept. 24, 1983, reaching the age of 93.

She was baptized and became a member of the Hoffnungsfeld-Eden Mennonite Church. On Oct. 24, 1907 she was united in marriage with Christian B. Goering, with whom she shared life's joys and sorrows for 75 years.

They lived on a farm in McPherson County, Kan., until 1937, when they moved to a farm in Harvey County. Upon retiring, they moved to the Bethel College campus in North Newton, and transferred their membership to the Bethel College Mennonite Church. She became a resident of the Moundridge Mennonite Home in 1979, and in 1980 she and her husband again joined the Eden Mennonite Church.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was always willing to give herself in the interest of those whom the Lord entrusted to her care. Her artistic talents were manifested in the many quilts and needlework she created. She realized her Savior was always able to supply her every need.

Services were held Sept. 27 at the Eden Mennonite Church, Moundridge, with Walter P. Neufeld in charge. Interment was in the Eden Mennonite Church Cemetery.

She leaves her husband; six daughters, Elizabeth and Arthur A. Wedel of Moundridge, Amanda and Arthur J. Goering of Newton, Ann and Milford D. Waltner of Newton, Melita of North Newton, Luella and Delmar Stahly of Akron, Pa., and Evelyn and Ralph S. Lehman of St. Louis, Mo.; three sons, Erwin C. and Verna of North Newton, Jacob D. and Beth of Silver Spring, Md., and Eldon C. and Bonnie of North Newton; one brother, Paul; three sisters, Ann (Mrs. Ben B. J.) Goering, Martha (Mrs. Ed P.) Schrag, and Matilda (Mrs. Ernest) Krehbiel; 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one infant daughter, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one brother and two sisters.
