John Goering

John Goering was born in South Russia in 1861, and came to America in 1876. He united with the Mennonite church on April 19, 1878, and remained a faithful member until his death.

August 14, 1881, he was united in marriage to Anna Graber, and to this union six children were born, three sons and three daughters, of which the eldest son preceded him in death in early childhood.

April 24, 1924, he lost his life’s companion, with whom he had shared his joys and sorrows for forty-three years.

Mr. Goering suffered with diabetes for several years, which in the last six weeks became so severe that it caused his death on Feb. 26, 1929, at the Hospital in Halstead; aged 68 years and 11 days.

He leaves to mourn him besides his children, nine grandchildren, one brother, one sister and a host of friends and relatives. — Pretty Prairie Times.
